Georges Laraque, retired hockey player and notorious vegan, welcomed visitors to the first edition of World Tofu day on Saturday afternoon in order to make them discover the virtues and advantages of this soy-based food offering an alternative to animal meat consumption.

The event was organised thanks to an initiative by the Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) whose mission is to spread awareness about animal cruelty.

A vegan diet prevents the use of animals for food production, respecting their right to life. Visitors could taste tofu-based barbecue recipes for free.
